The Story of our Foundation - OMUTUKUVU Project

We all travelled the world to come to Uganda, Mayirinya to nurse her in her last days
Jane Akoth Agembi was a great Grandmother

In January 2016, our founder Ken Ochieng was called back to his home of Mayrinya in Uganda’s Mayuge District to help nurse his sick grandmother in her final days. Before sickness eventually took her life, she made sure her legacy would extend beyond her 88 years of life. She entrusted the five acres of land that had been in the family for 200 years to Ken on the promise that it be used to serve not just the family but the entire community. With that promise, OMUTUKUVU began to take shape.

We were always one family from the beginning!
Oliver Brandeburg , a founder at OMUTUKUVU Project
